The New York Police Department (NYPD) released video footage Tuesday showing an officer riding through the city on horseback to nab a robbery suspect.

The incident unfolded Saturday in Times Square after a 34-year-old suspect allegedly stole a pair of sunglasses from a vendor near West 40th Street and Seventh Avenue, NY1 reported.

“Saturday evening, a male robbed a sunglass vendor in Times Square, but a @NYPDSpecialops Mounted officer was hot on his trail. With assistance from nearby officers an arrest was quickly made,” the NYPD tweeted along with a video of the chase. The officer is seen talking to the suspect who then dashes off. The officer and his trusty steed immediately gave chase down the busy street, riding straight into traffic to nab the suspect. The mounted officer managed to catch up to the suspect, who was being apprehended by other members of the NYPD.

The vendor reportedly alerted authorities to the robbery. It is unclear what charges the suspect may be facing, according to NY1.
