A man died after falling 40 feet from an escalator rail at The Weeknd’s concert in Philadelphia on July 14.

The unidentified 32-year-old man suffered head trauma after he plunged from the escalator rail at Lincoln Financial Field, the New York Post reported. Police claimed the man was taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital shortly after 11 p.m. on the night in question, and was pronounced dead shortly after midnight, the outlet continued.

After an investigation, it was concluded that the death was accidental, law enforcement told the outlet. The incident probably happened as people were leaving the venue after the concert, Bob Lange senior vice president of communications for the Philadelphia Eagles — who operate at Lincoln Financial Field — told the Post.

The show was the first stop on The Weeknd’s 2022 tour after their Toronto show was postponed due to power outages in Canada, the Post continued. Live Nation are promoting the multi-stop international tour, the same group in charge of Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival, the Post noted.
