Actor Alec Baldwin told CNN in a recent interview he feared Donald Trump supporters would kill him after the former president blamed him for the death of Halyna Hutchins on the set of the movie “Rust.”

The actor fired a live bullet from a prop gun in October 2021, killing the cinematographer and injuring director Joel Souza. Trump accused Baldwin, who has been a vocal critic of the former president of shooting Hutchins on purpose, calling him a “troubled guy” and “nutjob,” according to Insider in November.

“I was worried about what was going to happen, because here was Trump, who instructed people to commit acts of violence, and he was pointing the finger at me saying I was responsible for the death,” Baldwin said during the interview with CNN.

“1,000% I’m nervous that a bunch of people who were instructed by the former president to go to the Capitol, and they killed a law enforcement officers,” Baldwin said. “They killed somebody … And you don’t think that I think to myself some of those people are gonna come and kill me?”

Baldwin reportedly told CNN in the two-hour interview that the stress from the shooting has “taken years off my life,” according to TMZ. He went on to credit the support of his wife for being able to make it through those difficult moments, stating he would have quit without her support, the outlet reported. (RELATED: FBI Rules Trigger Must Have Been Pulled On ‘Rust’ Set, Contradicting Alec Baldwin’s Claims)

Baldwin added that he hired his own investigator who said “we’ve known in the department since January that Alec will not be charged with a crime.” During the CNN interview, Baldwin’s attorney was asked if he believed Baldwin would be charged in relation to this charity, to which he responded that was very unlikely, and proceeded to state, “it would be a huge miscarriage of justice.”

A recent FBI investigation concluded that the gun used in the incident “could not have been fired without someone pulling the trigger. The actor’s attorney has stated that the gun was “in poor condition” and has repeatedly suggested Baldwin was not at fault.
