A relative of Floyd Mayweather’s girlfriend reportedly committed suicide in the boxer’s Las Vegas condo on Aug. 22.

A friend discovered Jarrett Johnson, a relative of Mayweather’s girlfriend, Jamie Lynn, when they arrived at the condominium on Aug. 22 around 4:30 pm, according to TMZ. The young man was already deceased by the time police arrived at the scene. Sources have reported that Johnson died by hanging, according to TMZ.

Johnson and Mayweather had formed a seemingly close relationship. There are a number of photographs of the two of them sharing time with one another, and the two were known to travel across the country together.  Sources close to the family reveal that Mayweather is distraught over the loss, according to TMZ.

Details surrounding Johnson’s suicide have not been released to the public. It is not clear if he was residing at the condo where the alleged suicide took place, but it has been reported that he has a number of residences in the Las Vegas area. Johnson was a talented athlete with a passion for football, and he excelled in the sport. He was an all-conference quarterback in high school and was previously named the Southeast Missouri All-Region Athlete of the Year. He played multiple positions at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri, and showed great promise for a career in the sport, according to TMZ.

The Johnson family was met with tragedy in 2019 when their son Kevin was killed. This is the second child they lost at a young age, according to TMZ.

Mayweather has not yet publicly commented on this tragedy.
