Former President Donald Trump mocked former Republican New Jersey Gov. and 2016 challenger Chris Christie for his weight amid talk Christie could possibly run in 2024.

Trump shared a picture he says is Christie at a Roy Rogers buffet.

“Chris Christie at a Roy Rogers at 11 PM in the evening trying to console himself,” Trump posted to TruthSocial. (RELATED: Chris Christie Says Trump Wants To Tank Infrastructure Bill Because He’s Not The One Who Passed It)

Christie endorsed Trump back in 2016 after performing poorly in New Hampshire, with Trump saying the endorsement “really means a lot.” Christie was then appointed to head the White House transition team but was later replaced by Vice President Mike Pence. The move came as Christie was facing impeachment calls in his state of New Jersey after two of his former aides were convicted in “Bridgegate.”

Christie has since stepped back from Trump, telling CNN’s David Axelrod in 2021 that “the red line” for him was election night.

“Standing behind the seal of the president and saying the election was stolen, and then offering not one piece of evidence to support that.”

More recently he called the FBI raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago “fair game” despite a slew of Republicans throwing their support behind Trump in the wake of the unprecedented move.
