A school district in Ontario, Canada, is reportedly standing by a transgender teacher who wears large prosthetic breasts to teach woodshop, according to multiple reports, pictures, and videos of the teacher.

Teacher Kayla Lemieux, a woodshop teacher at Oakville Trafalgar High School, can be seen in videos posted to social media with large prosthetic breasts. In one video, Lemieux is seen in tight, black shorts cutting wood. In other pictures, Lemieux’s prosthetic nipples are protruding through the teacher’s top.

Lemieux did not respond to the Daily Caller’s request for comment.

Reduxx, a feminist blog, obtained an email from the Oakville Trafalgar High School leadership claiming that the school is aware of the social media attention Lemieux is receiving. Leadership stated that the school is committed to allowing “gender expression” in the classroom.

“We are aware of discussion on social media and in the media regarding Oakville Trafalgar High School,” the email reportedly reads. “We would like to take this opportunity to reiterate to our community that we are committed to establishing and maintaining a safe, caring, inclusive, equitable and welcoming learning and working environment for all students and staff.”

The email reportedly went on to say that “gender identity and gender expression are protected grounds under the Ontario Human Rights Code.” (RELATED: Using The Wrong Pronouns Deemed ‘Abuse’ At Harvard: Report)

“We strive to promote and support a positive learning environment in schools consistent with our values and to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all students, staff and the community, regardless of their race, age, ability, sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, cultural observance, socio-economic circumstances, or body type/size,” a district spokeswoman said.”

The spokeswoman said that they could not comment any further on Lemieux.
