A man was saved by a Randolph couple after his wheelchair became stuck on train tracks in Holbrook, Massachusetts, CBS News reported Tuesday.

Matt and Megan Pohl noticed the man stuck on the tracks seconds before the train was bound to reach him, according to the outlet.

“It was hard. His wheel was perfectly wedged between the concrete and the track,” Megan told WBZ-TV. “I don’t think he realized what was about to happen.” (RELATED: Car At Funeral Explodes, Man Suspected Of Placing Bomb Shoots At Police As He Flees)

The couple reportedly removed him from the tracks just as the crossing gates came down.

“I didn’t know if we were going to get hit trying to get him off,” Matt said, according to the outlet.

The Pohls met the man, 27-year-old Jamarc Tidwell, on Monday, CBS News continued. Tidwell is reportedly semi-independent with special needs.

“They saved me from the train,” Tidwell told WBZ-TV.

Tidwell, an avid Patriots fan, was allegedly on his way to get a cup of coffee from Mary Lou’s before the game when his wheelchair became stuck. When police arrived on the scene, Tidwell was safe, but he still wanted that cup of coffee. An officer purchased the cup for him, CBS News reported.

“I would hope my kids would get help if they needed it,” Megan said, according to the outlet.
