Washington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera got into a heated exchange with reporters Thursday while defending his quarterback, Carson Wentz.
Wentz notched the Commanders a 12-7 win in their Thursday night game against the Chicago Bears, after which Rivera delivered his intense speech to the press, NFL reported. Reports had surfaced in October that Rivera did not want Wentz on his team, and that the decision to trade him came from the Commander’s owner Dan Snyder, CBS Sports reported.

“Everybody wants to keep saying I didn’t want to do anything with Carson, well bullsh*t,” Rivera stated at the post-game conference. “I’m the f*cking guy that pulled out the sheets of paper, that looked at the analytics, that watched the tape, and the freaking when we were in Indianapolis. OK. And that’s what pisses me off, because the young man doesn’t deserve to have that all the time. I’m sorry, I’m done.”
After telling off the press, Rivera stormed off the podium. It’s the second time in less than a week that Rivera has made headlines in relation to Wentz. (RELATED: NFL Team Releases Player Accused Of Gang Raping 17-Year-Old Girl)
On Sunday, Rivera made a comment that suggested that the quarterback was to blame for the Commander’s loss against the Tennessee Titans. His latest outburst seems to suggest his new-found support for Wentz.
