The trailer for “Tulsa King” dropped Monday, and it looks like the perfect combination of drama, dark comedy, cops, gangsters, cowboys, motorcycle clubs and stoners.

“Tulsa King” is the next huge show to come from “Yellowstone” creator and iconic filmmaker Taylor Sheridan, and it was co-created with one of the lead writers from “The Sopranos,” Terence Winter. Sylvester Stallone stars as the main character, a grizzly East Coast mobster who gets exiled to Oklahoma after his release from prison.

The trailer reveals what appears to be an incredibly well-produced, brilliantly written reimagining of the classic gangster story. Set in the contemporary era, Stallone’s character clearly clashes with the Oklahoma vibe, which brings the comedy to what could have otherwise been yet another dark, miserable drama to distract us from the dark, miserable world our politicians have created for us.

If Sheridan can do anything well, it’s write a script that is equal parts dramatic and funny, but not the type of funny everyone gets. You’ve got to have a certain degree of life experience to appreciate the humor and balance Sheridan cultivates in all of his work. (RELATED: Here’s A Rundown Of Every Upcoming Taylor Sheridan Show)

The series launches Nov. 13 on Paramount Plus, with an insane host of actors. My personal favorites are Andrea Savage (“I’m Sorry”), Martin Starr, (“Silicon Valley”) and Garrett Hedlund (“Reservation Dogs”). You can watch the trailer here:
