“Yellowstone” star Kevin Costner is reportedly being told to leave the show by his wife, Christine Baumgartner.

Costner’s wife wants him to quit his leading role as John Dutton on the iconic Taylor Sheridan series, sources apparently told Radar Online. They suggest that Costner was skeptical about the show’s success when he signed on in 2018, but it’s since become one of the top-rated shows of all time as it goes into its fifth season in November.

This means that Costner is spending much of his time filming in Montana, leaving his wife and their three children at home in Los Angeles, Radar stated. “It’s really knocked a hole in their family life,” a friend allegedly told Radar. “The show is such a mega-hit, producers want it to go on forever! However, Christine wants her husband to hang up his cowboy hat, with an insider saying her patience is starting to fray. She wants a firm commitment this is his last season — or he might have to hit the dusty trail.”

Not to totally dismiss Radar’s claims, but I personally can’t imagine any wife being so ridiculous as to demand her cash-cow husband quit such a huge money-maker that doesn’t actually have that long of a shooting schedule. Of course, this presumption is based on no evidence but my gut feeling. (RELATED: More Spoilers Leak On Upcoming Season 5 Of ‘Yellowstone’)

While season five has fourteen episodes, extending the required production time, the typical production window for a 10-episode season is just a month or couple, according to CarterMatt. Call me a trad, but I just can’t see any good wife destroying her husband’s career and one of the best shows of all time just because she wants more attention. Hopefully Radar got this one wrong!
