MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough claimed Monday that President Joe Biden has the “best legislative record of any president” since former President Bill Clinton.

Washington Post senior national political correspondent Ashley Parker joined the hosts to discuss a piece she had recently co-authored on the “Successes, Missteps And Failures Of Biden’s Early Presidency.” When asked about the president’s record and whether he should run again, Parker laid out Biden’s “legislative wins that have been on Democratic wish lists, in some cases for decades: climate change, prescription drug, bipartisan gun legislation, semiconductor bill, helping veterans with burn pits, the COVID relief bill.”

“What he did legislatively with sort of tissue-thin margins in Congress is very impressive,” Parker added, noting that the “Biden people” she interviewed for the article “were quick to compare him to LBJ and FDR.”

Scarborough then chimed in to echo Parker’s statement.

“If you looked at where the Biden presidency was six months ago, legislatively, and compare it to where it is now, it’s really — it’s really a tale of two presidencies. I mean, there’ve been some bipartisan pieces of legislation that have gone through and also, of course, the reconciliation bill went through and some other things that he’s done on his own. He has, he actually does have probably the best legislative record of any president maybe since, maybe since Bill Clinton.”

This isn’t the first time left-leaning media personalities have been keen to label Biden’s record a success. Axios co-founder Mike Allen said in August that Biden actually has a “remarkable record” despite his low approval ratings.

Allen claimed Biden was not getting enough credit for his “America first, populist streak” and instead blamed the administration for poorly communicating the president’s achievements. (RELATED: ‘Am I Slowing Up?’: Biden Says Questions About His Age Are Legitimate)

Biden and the Democrats have been sinking in the polls ahead of the midterm elections. A recent New York Times/ Sienna Group survey found Republicans had the support of 49% of likely voters while just 45% of voters said they supported Democrats. Forty-four percent of voters ranked the economy and inflation as their top issues, on which they favored Republicans by a two-to-one margin.
