Producer Of ‘Schitt’s Creek’ Dead At Age 47

Famous producer Ben Feigin died at 47 in his Los Angeles home Monday after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Feigin was the executive producer who got “Schitt’s Creek” off the ground. He was part of the hit show during it’s entire run from 2015-2020, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  He also worked as an agent with UTA and Anonymous Content, and as an executive with Warner Bros. Television, where he oversaw hit series such as “Friends,” “The West Wing,” and “ER.” UTA, where his wife Heidi Feigin works as a talent agent, announced his death, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Feigin founded Equation Unlimited in 2016 and served as CEO. His long and successful entertainment career was recognized by a series of accolades. He was an Emmy-winner and received the Golden Globe and PGA awards in 2020 and 2021 for his work on the final season of “Schitt’s Creek,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Feigin was a heavyweight in the industry and is credited for helping to reunite Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong after 25 years  by arranging deals for touring, a television special and the pair’s first concert film, 2010’s “Cheech & Chong: Hey Watch This,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. Funeral services for Feigin will be held Thursday at 12:30 pm at Mount Sinai in the Hollywood Hills. The family has asked that donations in his memory be made to StandUp2Cancer, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Feigin is survived by his wife Heidi Feigin and their 11-year-old daughter, Ellie.
