Liberal comedian Jon Stewart tore into Hunter Biden’s “corruption” while he served on the Board of Directors of Ukrainian energy company Burisma, during a Wednesday podcast.

Stewart and British journalist Gabriel Gatehouse criticized the media for downplaying Biden’s abandoned laptop in a Delaware repair shop, which contained caches of files and emails connected to his business dealings with Burisma and CEFC China Energy.

“To me, that’s corruption straight off the bat … It’s corrupt on its face,” Stewart said. “I don’t need a laptop with a hint of circumstantial evidence. Now, tying Joe Biden to it, yeah that’s gonna take some digging.”

“But the idea that nepotism would allow much larger amounts of money to flow into the hands of people unqualified to be in the positions that they’ve been accepted because you think those countries are trying to buy influence, yeah, welcome to the fucking world. And I think, I think it’s a huge problem on its face. Forget about any secret laptop,” he continued.

Gatehouse described the timeline of tech companies censoring reports of the laptop and branding it as “Russian disinformation.” Twitter locked the New York Post’s account for seven days for posting a story they published detailing information about the laptop. The social media platform then locked the account of former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany’s personal account after sharing a New York Post article detailing Hunter and his father’s, President Joe Biden, business dealings in Ukraine.

The New York Times confirmed the authenticity of the laptop in a March report that covered his tax liability and possible criminal charges by pointing to a “cache of files” coming from the laptop abandoned in a repair shop in Delaware. The newspaper previously cast doubt on the credibility of the reports connected to the laptop.

The Times further reported that the Case ID on the receipt linked to the FBI’s code for transnational money laundering investigations suggested that there is enough evidence to press charges against Biden.

The Washington Post also confirmed the existence of the laptop in a March story that detailed his business dealings with CEFC China Energy after verifying emails from the computer. Like the Times, the Post downplayed reports on the laptop in 2020 claiming the emails “did not markedly advance what is already known about Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings.”
