Gisele Bündchen filed for divorce from Tom Brady in Florida on Friday morning, and both megastars have released statements on their respective social media pages.

Sources close to the situation revealed that Brady is not contesting the divorce and confirmed that Bündchen’s lawyers and Brady’s lawyers  have been working out property and child custody details over the past month, according to TMZ. The settlement document has also been filed in court, but the details listed within it remain confidential, TMZ noted.

The NFL superstar took to his Instagram story Friday to share a few details in his story.

“In recent days, my wife and I finalized our divorce from one another after 13 years of marriage. We arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together,” Brady wrote. “We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the center of our world in every way. We will continue to work together as parents to always ensure they receive the love and attention they deserve.”

He went on to say this process was both “painful, and difficult,” for him. (RELATED: ‘This Is Not The Way Reality Really Is’: Tom Brady Speaks Out About Parenting His Kids

“We wish only the best for each other as we pursue whatever new chapters in our lives that are yet to be written,” the seven-time Super Bowl champion wrote.

Bündchen echoed the same respectful tone in her statement to social media on Friday.

“The decision to end a marriage is never easy, but we have grown apart,” she wrote on her Instagram story. “I feel blessed for the time we had together and only wish the best for Tom always.”

Bündchen and Brady began dating in 2006 and were married three years later. They share two children, Benjamin and Vivian, according to TMZ.
