“Yellowstone” spin-off prequel “1923” finally has a release date.

The next installment of the Dutton family story, brought to us by the Paramount and Taylor Sheridan-universe, will be released in the U.S. and Canada on Sunday, Dec. 18, according to Variety. While there’s a fair amount we already know about this star-studded show, the intricate details of the plot have been largely hidden from the public.

The prequel stars Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren as Jacob and Cara Dutton, and follow their lives in the early 20th century West. The story will encompass pandemics, historic drought, the end of Prohibition and the Great Depression, essentially coinciding with our similar experiences in 2022/23.

A long list of actors has joined the show, including Robert Patrick, Jerome Flynn, and more. It seriously might even be better than “1883,” but it’s going to have some big boots to fill, that’s for sure.

“Yellowstone” season five is coming to Paramount+ Nov.13, giving us just over a month to wait for the next prequel. Considering that most shows go on break over the Christmas holidays, I am so stoked that the Sheridan-Universe will be available to fill the long dark nights of winter. Unlike so many new shows out this year, everything Sheridan touches is created without stupid political bias. He is one of the only artists to create for entertainment and quality, and I hope he keeps doing it forever.
