Oh, you’ve got to love the passion from Philadelphia sports fans.

Meet Dave Waddell, a man who is willing to put it all on the line for his Philadelphia Phillies to win the World Series against the Houston Astros — including his family and job. And the real funny part: the guy was dead serious.

To most of us casual sports fans, this is completely irrational behavior.

But to Philadelphia? This is completely normal.

And don’t blame Philly sports fans. Hell, Bryce Harper even said himself recently, “If you’ve got Phillies across your chest and you’re a fan, you’re a part of our team and you fight with us each day.”

According to their own hero, they’re a part of the team. They might not win a flashy World Series or National League pennant ring, but they’re still a part of the team, technically. Kind of. Not really. But still! Bryce Harper said so!

This is Philadelphia.

And in their defense, when is the last time a championship parade was held for your career? What about your wife? What about your kids that mess up your expensive $120 jersey ($140 after fees and taxes) that you wore every gameday? (RELATED: Former Teammate Calls MLB Legend A ‘Douchebag’)

Give Dave some credit here.

They say “some things are more important than sports.” First off, who the hell is they? Second, what exactly is on that list? What else is handing out $40 million contracts and $25,000 championship burgers, erm, rings?

Dave Waddell is a legend. (At least to the irrational sports fan, and shit-talking bloggers. *clears throat*)
