Matthew Perry, famous actor and star of the hit 90s sitcom “Friends,” said he thought his “penis didn’t work” for years until Carrie Fisher’s half-sister Tricia Fisher convinced him to use it.

Perry spoke candidly in his new memoir “Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing,” and he described that years went by before he realized his penis was fully functional, according to Page Six. The “Friends” alum admitted he “tried to have sex” as a teenager but said he “couldn’t perform” after he drank — and he was drinking all the time.

In his memoir, Perry described making “the correlation between the booze and private parts” and explained to fans that, due to his alcoholism, he didn’t realize it was actually the booze itself that was standing between little Matthew and a happy sex life.

Perry admitted to believing he was impotent for a long time during his adolescence. “I was walking around the planet thinking sex was something for other people. For a long time,” Perry said in his memoir, according to Page Six.

“Sex sounded awfully fun, but it was not in my arsenal,” Perry said, describing the impact that his alcoholism had on every aspect of his life.

Perry said the situation became an obvious one when he started dating Fisher. Unable to successfully keep this issue concealed from her, he told her what he described as his “shameful tale.” To Perry’s surprise, Fisher remained unfazed. Fisher assured Perry that his persistent problem was “not going to happen again,” and led the way to the bedroom, according to Page Six.

“Sure enough… sheer glory for two whole minutes,” Perry said.

When he realized the correlation between his drinking habits and his sexual competence, Perry’s sexual appetite was awoken and he began  “sleeping with almost every woman in Southern California,” according to Page Six.

“Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing” was released Thursday.
