Boxing legend Mike Tyson hung out with Skateboarding great Tony Hawk and tried his luck on a board — it didn’t end well.

Tyson and Hawk were filming an episode of the podcast “Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson,” but when Tyson stepped onto the skateboard it became evident that he was out of his league. Video footage of the experience showed Hawk trying to teach Tyson to skate and the two seemed to be having fun in one another’s company, but the situation changed quickly when Tyson tried to dismount, lost his balance, and awkwardly fell backwards.

Tony Hawk cheered enthusiastically when the 56-year-old boxing champion positioned himself on the board. Tyson looked incredibly uncomfortable and could be heard saying “I’ve gotta stop this thing,” before trying to get himself off.

He somehow ended up in the upright position in a wooden chair and the boxing legend shook himself off and tried to act like nothing had happened. Hawk could be heard reassuring the cameraman that Tyson was alright. “he’s ok, he’s sitting in the chair!” he said.

In 2015 Tyson fell off a hoverboard and spent a week in bed recovering from his injuries. He poked fun at his history of bad luck on boards by posting a caption alongside his video which read, “Lucky that chair was there or it would have been a repeat of the hoverboard scare.”
