NBC’s Savannah Guthrie participated in an impromptu beer chugging contest with Ashton Kutcher live on air on Friday’s show — and the internet loved it.

Newsbusters’ managing editor Curtis Houck tweeted a video of Guthrie and Kutcher living it up as they decided that it was as good a time as any to chug the beer they were given on set.

“I now totally want to go drinking with Ashton Kutcher (@aplusk) and NBC’s @SavannahGuthrie after seeing them each chug a pint of beer at 8:42 a.m. Eastern,” Houck wrote.

He went on to give credit to Guthrie for downing the entire pint of beer in record time writing, “What champs. Savannah went to a big school, so she knows what’s up!”

Carson Daly came out and handed a beer to Guthrie and one to Kutcher. “It’s pre-game. You’re carbo-loading,” Guthrie said as she was given her beer. “That’s how you get those last .2 miles, right there,” Daly said. Guthrie went on to declare that marathon winners “always chug a pint” beforehand, and that seemed to spark the idea for Kutcher.

“I will chug it with you if you chug it, but you gotta down the whole thing,” Kutcher said to Guthrie.

“Don’t dare me!” Guthrie responded as she went ahead and accepted the challenge. “Ok Let’s go, 1,2,3 I mean, this is crazy!” she added.

“We’re also like … promoting binge drinking,” Kutcher said.

The two raised their glasses and toasted one another before getting to the task at hand. (RELATED: Watch The US Open Beer-Chugging Woman House Another In Epic Fashion)

The camera zoomed in as Guthrie and Kutcher downed their beers. Kutcher got to the bottom of his glass a second or two before Guthrie, and proudly shouted “I went to college!”

“So did I!” Guthrie said, and the two high-fived one another.

Guthrie clutched her stomach and said ” “I feel terrible. Don’t do that at home!”

The drinking marathon was a prelude to running in the New York City Marathon on Sunday to raise money for Kutcher’s foundation, Thorn, which is dedicated to protecting children from sex trafficking, according to TODAY.
