Katy Perry just voted for Republican-turned-Democrat Los Angeles Mayoral Candidate Rick Caruso and blasted the details of her voting decision all over her Instagram account.

The superstar singer made her vote count by casting her ballot, and then reinforced her decision by making sure that all 178 million of her Instagram followers were well aware that she was endorsing Caruso.

“🇺🇸I am voting for a myriad of reasons (see the news) but in particular because Los Angeles is a hot mess atm,” Perry wrote in her Instagram caption. She then added a series of hashtags to further demonstrate her passionate voting decision. “#letsgocaruso #yestomeasure28 #yestomeasure1 #doyoubutjustuseyourvoteok🇺🇸,” Perry wrote.

Perry added a photo gallery to her post, making her vote in the Nov. 8 General Election an even more personal one that fans could easily connect to.

The first image she posted was of herself as she cast her vote for the candidate. She gave a thumbs-up and was smiling ear-to-ear about doing her part to create change. Another photo showed that she had checked “Yes, on Measure 28,” which supports increased resources for arts and music education in schools, according to Ballotpedia.

Another photograph showed Perry with her arms in the air in front of the building, as she prepared to enter. Posters encouraging the public to vote were visible at the entrance. (RELATED: Elon Musk Endorses Real Estate Mogul Rick Caruso For LA Mayor)

Perry treated fans to a short video at the end of her post. Her perfectly manicured nails were visible as she gave a thumbs up in front of the electronic voting system. “I voted,” Perry said in the video in front of a screen showing a completed vote.

Caruso, who is registered as a Democrat, has dedicated his platform to bettering the Los Angeles area by putting his focus on ending homelessness, creating affordable housing, and increasing public safety.
