Cole Hauser, who plays Rip Wheeler on the iconic Paramount+ show “Yellowstone,” has assured fans that he won’t be dying in season five.

Fans were reportedly concerned that the “something big coming,” teased in the “Yellowstone” season five trailers, meant that Rip would die, leaving the character’s wife, Beth Dutton, a complete basket case, WhiskyRiff reported. However, these concerns were alleviated by Hauser, who told TODAY that even his mother was worried this might be his end.

“I said, ‘Mom, I do the killing. Don’t worry about it,'” Hauser told the network. Apparently Rip has some new “colors” for Hauser to explore in his portrayal of the cowboy, and I literally cannot wait for it!

“There’s a darkness to him that I love, but there’s also, kind of, this real passion and love that he has for Beth and I thought that’s a really good juxtaposition as an actor to be able to play that,” Hauser continued. Season five of “Yellowstone” starts Nov. 13 on Paramount+, and while I can’t give away any details on the plot line just yet, let me just say that the first episode is one for the ages. It’s certainly going to be an iconic season that changes the game for the Dutton Yellowstone Ranch.
