Oh, man. The entire landscape of the National Football League could potentially change very shortly.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is currently being evaluated by the team for a right elbow injury to the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL), as well as related nerves, according to ESPN.

As far as the upcoming game for the Bills against the Minnesota Vikings Nov. 13, the football team is currently undecided on whether Allen will play.

“We’re just going through it, still evaluating it, and we’ll see where it goes,” said head coach Sean McDermott. “I’ll know more in the next 24 hours and then probably be able to check in with [the media] back on Wednesday.”

Allen would get injured during Buffalo’s 20-17 loss to the New York Jets, and on the last drive at that. With backup right tackle David Quessenberry being in for Spencer Brown, who is currently out with an injury, New York’s defensive lineman Bryce Huff rushed past Quessenberry and smashed Allen right into his throwing arm, injuring it in the process and also landing a strip sack that would ultimately be recovered by the Bills.

Now, yours truly isn’t rooting for an injury or anything like that, but simply pointing out as a Miami Dolphins fan how this would be absolutely glorious if this ends up being a season-ending injury for Josh Allen. Is it selfish because of fandom towards a football team that you’ve literally never seen win anything ever, and only has made the playoffs twice in the past 20 years because of a first round-exit division “championship” and the other appearance also being a said first round-exit?

Of course it is, but that’s how the Miami Dolphins will make you as a fan — cheap.

At 6-3 with Tua Tagovailoa becoming one of the best quarterbacks in the league, having Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle as the best 1-2 punch in the league in terms of wide receiver corps and being on the ass of the Buffalo Bills for first place in the AFC East, you’d think you would have more confidence. Oh, but that’s what decades of pain will bring you: Being so cautiously optimistic because you’re so used to losing all the time that you still have no faith in your football team.

There’s just been too much pain as a Miami Dolphins fan, none of us are used to this kind of winning and glory. We’re all optimistic, but absolutely cautious about everything that we’re feeling — too much heartbreak, just too much heartbreak.

If Josh Allen does end up being out for the season, that obviously would take the Bills (6-2) out of the equation, and the AFC East race would be down to the Dolphins (6-3), Jets (6-3) and New England Patriots (5-4, and it should also be noted that these guys are getting hot having won four out of their last five games). Even without Buffalo, what an entertaining division this is with literally every single team having a winning record and being on the verge of the pole position, but do you also see what yours truly means? This division is tough enough as it is for us Miami fans who just can’t handle the anxiety anymore.

Do us the solid, Josh. (But in all seriousness, get better. See you soon, king.)

But seriously, do us the solid.
