Former President Donald Trump is reportedly “furious” that he endorsed Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz for the Pennsylvania Senate, and is blaming those close to him, including Melania Trump.

Oz was defeated by Democrat John Fetterman by a margin of over 3% in the highly watched Senate race Tuesday night, the Associated Press reported. The Democrats winning Pennsylvania puts them one seat closer to winning the majority of the Senate, as Fetterman’s victory flipped a seat previously held by Republican Sen. Pat Toomey.

The New York Times’ Maggie Haberman tweeted Wednesday morning that Trump “is blaming everyone who advised him to back Oz,” citing people close to the former president. He is reportedly partly blaming his wife, who expressed her fondness of Oz to Trump earlier this year, according to NBC News.

Trump celebrated the results of the midterm results in a Truth Social post early Wednesday morning, saying it was “a great evening,” and that “the Fake News Media, together with their partner in crime, the Democrats, are doing everything possible to play it down.” (RELATED: Trump Reacts To Midterm Results)

He has also expressed that he will make a “very big announcement” on Nov. 15, with some speculating that he will announce his 2024 presidential campaign.

Haberman tweeted that “there are people pushing Trump to reschedule his announcement next week,” and that “several” Republicans “have texted asking whether he will.”

The Trump team did not immediately respond to an inquiry from the Daily Caller.

Former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said Wednesday that Trump should refrain from making the announcement, and wait until the Senate runoff in Georgia between Republican Herschel Walker and Democrat Raphael Warnock on Dec. 6.
