‘Survivor’ Contestant Roger Sexton Dead At 76

“Survivor” contestant Roger Sexton died at the age of 76 after a long battle against dementia.

Family members recently reported on the reality TV star’s passing, and came forward to confirm he passed away at the end of October, according to TMZ. Sexton’s family reported that he was at his daughter and son in-law’s home in Walla Walla, Washington at the time of his death, and was surrounded by his family and caretakers when he passed away.

The obituary written in Sexton’s honor notes that his death followed “a valiant and courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia” which is reportedly the second most common form of the disease, after Alzheimer’s, according to TMZ.

Sexton’s strength and courage was visible as he battled the disease he was living with, and was matched by his sheer determination and courage during his time on the show. Fans recall his time on the sixth season of “Survivor” as part of the Tambaqui tribe. His tenacity quickly helped him become the leader of the team, according to TMZ. He spent a total of 21 days in the Amazon before several members of his own tribe were eventually convinced to turn against him by the opposing tribe, according to the outlet.

In addition to his time on the show, Sexton was also Marine who served in the Vietnam War.

He will forever be remembered by his friends, fans, and loved ones.
