“The View” co-host Sunny Hostin told the panel Tuesday that Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is “very, very clever.”

The panel discussed politicians’ personal skills, such as humor or charm, to appeal to voters. Hostin said DeSantis demonstrated his “cleverness” by sending fifty illegal migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, in September.

“People think that DeSantis is quite clever, and that part of his cleverness is that he got the undocumented people on the planes and flew them to Martha’s Vineyard, like that is allegedly like a funny thing. I just find it to be mean,” Hostin said. “It really depends on what your definition of humor is.”

“I’ve heard that he’s very, very clever,” she continued, prompting immediate push back from co-host Ana Navarro.

“Who told you he was clever?” Navarro asked. “Is it in the notes that he’s clever?”

“It’s been written about, that he’s very clever and that he’s very smart,” Hostin replied. (RELATED: Sunny Hostin Says She’s Thrilled Migrants Are Coming To Martha’s Vineyard)

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin agreed that DeSantis is smart, but is not charismatic. Hostin argued the governor “looked like the devil” by sending the migrants to the liberal enclave, though they voluntarily boarded the planes.

The migrant relocation to Massachusetts resulted in a lawsuit by three Venezuelan migrants and the George Soros-backed nonprofit group, Alianza Americas. The suit alleged that the migrants were exploited “for the sole purpose of advancing their own personal, financial, and political interests.”

Cristina London, a senior Washington correspondent for Telemundo, traveled to Martha’s Vineyard and spoke to a handful of migrated migrants. The migrants expressed gratitude to DeSantis for sending them to the upper class town due to the promise of job opportunities and housing. These arguments disputed the activists’ claims that they were human trafficked by the governor’s administration.
