Ukraine claimed Wednesday that one of its snipers took out a Russian soldier from a distance of 1.68 miles, breaking the world record for second-longest kill shot.

Ukraine’s Office of Strategic Command shared footage of the apparent shot and commentary on Telegram. “The occupier was eliminated by a precise shot of our special forces from a distance of 2710m” the government organization confirmed. A brief video shows the sniper downing the enemy combatant from a distance equivalent to 30 football fields, according to the New York Post. Viewers can see a figure running in a wood line, crosshairs centered on the “occupier,” and the target falling to the ground. The long-distance shot compares to hitting a target in New York’s Central Park from Times Square, Business Insider noted.

If confirmed, the unnamed Ukrainian sniper bumps British Craig Harrison into third place, according to Business Insider. The Briton shot and killed an Afghan Taliban fighter in 2009 at a distance of 1.5 miles, the BBC reported. The longest kill shot on record currently belongs to a member of the Canadian Armed Forces, who gunned down an ISIS militant from over 2 miles away, the outlet noted.

“We will remind that the first place in the world is occupied by a shot of a Canadian sniper at a distance of 3,540 meters while performing a task in Iraq,” Ukraine’s Strategic Command said. “The second place belonged to the British Craig Harrison, at a distance of 2475 meters.”
