Country music icon Morgan Wallen apparently has a new favorite up-and-coming singer, Bailey Zimmerman.

It’s likely you’ve already heard one of Zimmerman’s songs as his first EP, “Leave The Light On,” which was released in mid-October. The 22-year-old is fast becoming a favorite on social media, with more than 1.7 million followers on TikTok and 25 million views.

He’s also one of Wallen’s new favorite kids in country (even though he’s clearly going to redefine the genre with his production quality and quirks), according to the man himself in a recent interview with Country Countdown USA.

“This is a kid, I think that, just with the way he’s rising and the way he’s blowing up that he’s someone who will probably need that,” Wallen told the show. “I told him that I’d be that for him if he wants it. It’s cool just to see a little small-town kid, you know, kind of, like myself, come and start making some noise in the town and all around the country. I’m proud of him and looking forward to seeing what he does.”

Wallen and Zimmerman have already co-written a song called “Trainwreck” with two others, according to Music Mayhem. After learning that the top ranking country music star was also a fan of Zimmerman, I spent the morning listening to his entire catalog and have to agree with Wallen. This kid is something special. He’s got the voice of an old soul, and his talent is undeniable. (RELATED: The People Behind The Grammy Awards Prove Themselves To Be Stupid AF With Their Morgan Wallen Snub)

It’s no wonder Zimmerman has already made his debut at the Grand Ole Opry, a far cry from the work he did building gas pipelines not so long ago, Music Mayhem noted. I cannot wait to watch this kid’s career.
