Xana Kernodle, one of the four University of Idaho students found slain Nov. 13, reportedly fought for her life against her murderer.

Xana, 20, was brutally murdered along with 20-year-old Ethan Chapin, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, and Madison Mogen, 21. The four were found dead in an off-campus residence after police responded to a call about an unconscious person around noon.

Her father, Jeffrey Kernodle, said the wounds on his daughter’s body, which were revealed during the autopsy, showed she fought for her life, according to Arizona Family.

“Bruises, torn by the knife. She’s a tough kid. Whatever she wanted to do, she could do it,” he told the outlet.

Kernodle said he last heard from his daughter hours before the gruesome incident.

“I heard from her I think before we went out,” Kernodle said, according to Arizona Family. “I think midnight was the last time we heard from her and she was fine.”

Kernodle said the “door locks with a number code” at the house in which his daughter was staying, the outlet continued. (RELATED: Man Charged With Murdering, Dismembering Girlfriend, And Stuffing Her In A Suitcase)

“Every time you go, you have to go around the house because of the number code so they either knew that or went around and maybe found the slider door open,” he said.

Authorities have yet to name a suspect at the time of writing and warned Nov. 16 the “individual is still out there.”

Moscow Police Chief James Fry also said Wednesday two other roommates were at the residence when the incident happened and when police responded to the scene.
