Republican West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice announced Tuesday that he is “seriously considering” a run against Democratic West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin in 2024.
“I’m very seriously considering running for Senate,” Justice said. “A lot of thinking and planning and everything and discussion ongoing with my family and lots of folks, but serious, serious consideration. You’ll know real soon,” he continued.
“I’m not going to sit around and just hang out. I don’t believe in that. I’ll be your governor,” Justice added. “I truly believe the people in the great state of West Virginia are with me in whatever decision I make. I’m sure they’ll be right with me, as they know without any question, I’ll be right with them.”

Earlier in November, Republican West Virginia Rep. Alex Mooney announced that he will run for Manchin’s Senate seat in 2024.(RELATED: ‘All In’ — Republican Alex Mooney Announces Bid To Unseat Joe Manchin In 2024)
“I’m announcing right now that I am officially running for the United States Senate for the seat that’s open in two years that Joe Manchin currently is in and I’m all in,” Mooney said during a radio interview on West Virginia MetroNews’ “Talkline.”

“I think he’s a liberal Democrat and West Virginia doesn’t deserve that anymore and it has to be changed,” he added.
Former President Donald Trump endorsed Mooney last November for his 5th term, while his Democrat opponent received endorsements from Manchin and Justice in the last weeks of the race.
