Twitter CEO Elon Musk said he would support Ron DeSantis if the Florida Governor chooses to run for president in 2024.

“As a reminder, I was a significant supporter of the Obama-Biden presidency and (reluctantly) voted for Biden over Trump,” Musk tweeted Friday.

“But freedom of speech is the bedrock of a strong democracy and must take precedence,” he added. “My preference for the 2024 presidency is someone sensible and centrist. I had hoped that would the case for the Biden administration, but have been disappointed so far.”

In response to @ProudElephantUS asking in the same thread Musk if he would support Ron DeSantis in 2024, Musk responded, “Yes.”

“But Twitter as a platform must be fair to all,” he elaborated. (RELATED: Elon Musk Says He Could Create ‘Alternative Phone’ If Apple & Google Boot Twitter From App Store)

Former President Donald Trump officially launched his 2024 presidential campaign at Mar-a-Lago this month, making a third consecutive run for the White House.

“I am officially running for president of the United States, and we are going to make our country great again,” Trump said.

Rapper Kanye West claimed Tuesday that he asked Donald Trump to be his running mate in the 2024 presidential election.
