Police shot and killed a suspect and found another person’s body in the trunk after a chase Sunday afternoon near the Detroit-Dearborn border.

Police initiated a traffic stop on a suspect involved in a separate endangered missing investigation, Fox 2 reported. The suspect fled in a Dodge Charger, and as the police approached the car, there was an exchange of gunfire that left the driver dead, Fox 2 reported.

“All of a sudden I hear this huge crash, and then I go look out the front door outside and this car had gone into this house right where I live, the window is completely broken,”resident Rehab Jadallah told Fox 2.

Police officers found a dead body inside the trunk, and another passenger was treated for injuries at a local hospital, according to the outlet. The investigation remains ongoing. (RELATED: Police Find Body Of Missing Princeton Student: Report)

“I’m kind of scared because my kids walk to school and every time I hear a shooting, I think about my family. I don’t want anything to happen to them or to any other kids either,” neighbor Nassr Saleh told Fox 2.
