A video of a brown bear in Westcliffe, Colorado, climbing a tree to grab a bird feeder has garnered thousands of views on YouTube.
In the video, the bear realizes it cannot reach the bird feeder from the ground, so it climbs up the tree. Upon reaching the branch, it does a series of acrobatic moves to grab the bird feeder dangling from the tree’s branch. The branch falls, and so does the bear, along with the bird feeder. According to the video’s description, the videographer woke up early Sunday morning to enjoy the view.
“I chuckled to myself, thinking ‘That is a really fat deer!’ – when all of a sudden it stood up, and it was a bear!”
The woman woke her husband and kids so they could see the bear.
“When we came back out to the porch (leaving the cabin door open in case we need to make a quick escape), the bear started to crawl down the hill towards the cabin with two cute little cubs following right behind her.”
The tree was about 30 feet away from where the family was watching.
