Aubrey Plaza really leaned in to her dark persona while filming “The White Lotus,” and admits to psychologically torturing co-star Adam DiMarco during their time on-set.

Plaza, DiMarco, and the cast and crew of the HBO show stayed at the Four Seasons San Domenico Palace for five months while filming the show’s second season, according to GQ. Plaza admits she took advantage of DiMarco by messing with him, then denying responsibility, even when her deeds were caught on surveillance cameras. Plaza said even the Italian hotel staff thought she was acting strangely.

“I was a suspicious character for these Italians,” she said. “They thought I was sketchy. Which I am,” Plaza told GQ.

The “Parks and Recreation” star says she strategically placed reed diffusers used to scent the hotel in a large Blair Witch-style symbol on the floor of DiMarco’s dressing room. She did the same in her own dressing room the following day, but pretended that she had no idea how it happened or who was responsible, according to GQ.

Plaza put on a dramatic scene, pretending to be haunted by the strange occurrence in front of fellow cast members Haley Lu Richardson and Meghann Fahy, according to GQ. (RELATED: ‘I Did Some Questionable Things’: Aubrey Plaza Spills Tea On Acting With Robert De Niro)

Plaza’s act of pretending to be innocent was convincing, but the hotel staff blew her cover by pulling the surveillance footage, which clearly showed she was the culprit. Plaza still maintained her innocence.

“I was definitely questioning my reality for a while there,” DiMarco said, after Plaza repeatedly assured him she wasn’t to blame and pretended to also be a victim.  “I didn’t know who to trust. It was like Murder on the Orient Express. Everyone was the murderer,” DiMarco said.

“She’s a disruptor by nature,” Mike White, the creator of “The White Lotus” said, according to GQ.
