A board-certified physician who was accused of raping his patients at his office in Naples, Florida while they were under anesthesia was reportedly found dead in a ditch with a gunshot wound to his head.

The Naples Police Department had arrested Dr. Eric Andrew Salata, 54, for allegedly committing sexual crimes against his patients at Pura Vida Medical Spa, according to a statement. He was charged for two counts of sexual battery to a physically helpless person. (RELATED: Serial Sex Offender Arrested For Rape Committed Over 40 Years Ago)

When no movement was detected on his ankle monitor Monday, deputies with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 4800 block of Gail Boulevard for a welfare check, WINK News reported. Authorities found him dead with a gunshot wound to the head, according to the report.

“During the previous four weeks, the Naples Police Department received complaints from women who advised being sexually battered while receiving cosmetic medical treatments,” the department previously wrote on Facebook.

After being administered nitrous oxide to assist with sedation and pain from a procedure, a woman allegedly found Salata performing sexual intercourse. She then contacted the police and submitted a sexual assault examination which was send to a laboratory. The second victim relayed a similar account.
