CNN’s political analyst Chris Cillizza was fired Thursday amid a massive shakeup at the company, according to a report.
Cillizza, who had signed a 3-year contract with the network in 2021, was cut Thursday, according to Variety. Among other correspondents fired include Alison Kiosk, Martin Savidge, Alex Field, and Mary Ann Fox, Variety reported.

CEO Chris Licht announced Wednesday in a memo to staff that layoffs would be underway over the following few days. The executives said they would notify staff, mostly paid contributors, about their termination. Licht acknowledged the move would come as a “gut punch” to the network but that it was necessary.
“Our people are the heart and soul of this organization. It is incredibly hard to say goodbye to any one member of the CNN team, much less many,” Licht said in the statement, calling it a “recalibrated reporting strategy.”
