Several individuals who were at the location at the time the incident occurred said the suspect entered the barbershop and went directly to where the victim was cutting the child’s hair. The suspect fled on foot. Despite conducting an extensive search with the help of a dog, the suspect is still at large.

“It does not appear that robbery was a motive,” Portmann said, The News Tribune reported.

The victim — a 43-year-old male who lived in Tacoma — is the owner of JQ Barb.

The Puyallup Police Department’s Investigative Services Unit (ISU) is leading the investigation.
