University of Florida quarterback Jalen Kitna was dismissed from the football team Friday following his arrest Wednesday, according to an ESPN report.

Kitna, the son of former NFL quarterback Jon Kitna, was arrested on five different charges including two counts of distribution of child exploitation material and three counts of possession of child pornography, according to TMZ. If convicted, he faces up to 45 years in jail as well as $35,000 in fines, SI.com reported.

“We are shocked and saddened to hear of the news involving Jalen Kitna,” the school’s athletic association said in a statement, according to Fox News. “These are extremely serious charges, and the University of Florida and the UAA have zero tolerance for such behavior.”

Kitna was let out of jail Thursday on a $800,000 bond with an order to avoid both minors and the internet, Fox News reported. (RELATED: CBP Officer ‘Inadvertently Showed Porn To Children At School).

The University of Florida Police Department issued Kitna a trespass warning which prevents him from being on campus for three years, based on the outcome of his case, according to ESPN.

Kitna appeared in four games for the Gators this past season, throwing for 181 yards and one touchdown, the report continues.

He will remain under his parent’s supervision in Burleson, Texas, according to Fox News.
