Former Los Angeles Laker Devean George squashed rumors that NBA great Shaquille O’Neal once took a sh*t in his shoes.

George set the record straight by telling TMZ the basketball superstar never defecated in his shoe. He said he believes Tyronn Lue is the one responsible for making the story up and spreading the rumor. Lue started the rumor on the “Knuckleheads” podcast in June, TMZ reported Monday.

“He never took a shit in my shoe. No, that’s a lie, that’s a lie,” George told TMZ.

Lue alleged that O’Neal was upset Lue hadn’t brought donuts to a meeting, so he took a crap in one of the small forward’s sneakers, TMZ continued. Lue said O’Neal then put the shoe back and acted as though nothing was wrong, according to the outlet.

Rumor had it that George subsequently put his foot in his shoe and was met O’Neal’s feces. But George is saying none of that happened. “Hell no, that’s a lie … And I know T Lue started that, or somebody said T Lue said it. That never happened,” George told TMZ.

George had a lot of kind words to share about Shaquille O’Neal. “Shaq showed nothing but love for us, really. To be honest, he’s a big Santa Clause,” he told TMZ.

George did peg O’Neal for being quite the prankster, though. He talked about some of the ways O’Neal apparently used to mess with his colleagues. “He treated me like a rookie and a little brother, but it was all love,” George told TMZ. “But I mean he always hid stuff, took stuff, pranks, made us do his errands,” George said. “Shaq was Shaq, but in all, he was a great teammate.”

“I can’t say nothing bad with my experience with Shaq,” he concluded.
