The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office sentenced the man charged for shooting Lady Gaga’s dog walker to 21 years in jail, according to a report Monday.

James Howard Jackson accepted a plea deal in the case, and pled no contest to a count of attempted murder and admitted to the allegation of inflicting great bodily injury, according to TMZ. Jackson is one of five men accused of the violent incident that dates back to 2021. Prosecutors alleged it was Jackson who fired the shot at Lady Gaga’s dog walker Ryan Fischer that landed him in a hospital with extensive injuries, according to TMZ.

Prior to entering his plea, Jackson was facing attempted murder charges as well as 2 firearm counts; assault with a semiautomatic firearm as well as a felon carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle, according to TMZ. His were the most serious charges among the group of men that were involved in the incident. There has been no update about the court’s ruling on the charges against the other four men. The long list of charges against them included attempted murder and accessory charges, according to TMZ. (RELATED: New Security Footage Shows Lady Gaga’s Dog Walker Being Shot And Dogs Stolen)

Jackson was apprehended for his involvement in this crime but was somehow mistakenly released earlier in 2022 as a result of a clerical error by the Sheriff’s Department. He was apprehended again and has since remained in police custody.

Lady Gaga has not yet released any updates regarding this matter on social media.
