Grimes “liked” an unusual tweet Monday in what could be interpreted as an insult to either the penis size or the intelligence of her estranged husband, Elon Musk.
The potential low-key jab at Musk’s penis came when Grimes “liked” a post by Twitter user @The_Hellenist. “That large penises are seen as desirable is just another symptom of western degeneration. Large penises are a sign of low intelligence and savage genetics. Small penises indicate high intelligence and aristocratic blood,” the user wrote. Did Grimes just find the tweet funny or interesting, or was she intentionally throwing some shade?

The tweet she liked reflects a common ancient Greek belief about penis size. “A large penis was considered animalistic” in ancient Greece, art historian Camille Paglia explained in a 2017 lecture. “An intelligent man was supposed to have a small penis.” Hence the diminutive tallywhackers on Classical statuary.
If Grimes was expressing support for this theory, it’s possible she was shading Musk, her former partner and the father of her son, X Æ A-Xii.
Who else could she be talking about? Musk is the last person with a penis to whom Grimes was publicly linked. The singer dated transgender whistleblower Chelsea Manning from March to July 2022, but Manning has not had a penis since 2018.
Grimes may have insulted Elon’s penis size, but if so, she also complimented his “high intelligence.” The opposite — that she was complimenting his penis size but insulting his intelligence — seems like a harder sell, considering Musk’s enormous success. But wait. The plot thickens. This might not be the first time Grimes has spoken out about Musk’s penis size. In an alleged 2018 text exchange with rapper Azealia Banks, Grimes stated in no uncertain term that Musk was well-endowed.
“[He] has a giant dick,” Grimes wrote in in a message to Banks, and even joked about measuring it. Banks responded by suggesting Grimes’ petite frame may have warped her perception of his size. The NSFW conversation unfolded without any real measurements being exchanged.
If the messages with Banks are genuine, then it would appear that Grimes was actually hinting at Musk’s “low intelligence and savage genetics” by liking the tweet. Or maybe it had nothing to do with Musk. Who’s to say?
