Like I say all the time: Everything that Prime Time touches turns to gold. And here we go again.

Sports and pop culture icon Deion Sanders was named the head coach of the University of Colorado Boulder football team Dec. 3, and just a day later, he already delivered big for the school by landing his first five-star recruit.

Winston Watkins — who is the first cousin of Green Bay Packers wide receiver Sammy Watkins — committed to the Buffaloes Dec. 4 as a part of their 2025 class.

At 5 foot 10 inches tall and 172 pounds, Watkins is enrolled at Florida’s IMG Academy, a school that has produced football talent like Greg Newsome, K.J. Hamler and Evan Neal. In the 2025 class rankings, Watkins is listed as the No. 4 wide receiver, while being No. 13 overall, according to 247Sports.

Coach Prime is already out here doing his thing.

What’s even more impressive about this entire situation with Watkins is that Deion had to compete with 17 other schools in order to land him, including Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Tennessee, Florida State, Florida, Miami, Penn State, Texas and the once-favorite Texas A&M.

Now that’s swag, and on top of that, the signing instantly makes Colorado the No 1. team in the 2025 team recruiting rankings. (RELATED: ‘Leach Is Glad I Am Leaving’: Mississippi State Player Hits Transfer Portal After Announcing He’s ‘Not Very Tough’)

What did I say literally just the other day? That everything Deion Sanders touches turns to gold.

“But it’s just one recruit.”

Well, over 200 recruits have allegedly been contacting Prime since he’s been hired and many of them are four- and five-star recruits.

And with that report being from Dec. 5, it’s very likely that it’s well over 200 by now.

Remember what I said about giving it three or four years and Colorado will be a powerhouse?

At this rate, we might be looking at two or three years.

That’s Coach Prime, baby.
