Woah, we have some major drama going on here.
Chris Beard, currently the head coach of the University of Texas Longhorns men’s basketball program, was arrested Dec. 12 on a felony domestic violence charge.
Authorities have booked the 49-year-old Beard into Travis County jail, according to senior public information officer Kristen Dark of the Travis County Sheriff’s Office.
“He is in our custody,” Dark told ESPN. “I can confirm he is the person who is in our booking process.”
After officers arrested him in Austin, Beard was booked at 4:18 a.m. and hit with a third-degree charge of “assault of a family/household member, impede breath circulation,” which is a fancy way of saying strangulation or choking.
As I was writing this blog, some new information popped in:
Listened to zoom of Chris Beard’s bond hearing. Conditions: must stay 200 yards away from victim. Can communicate via text, phone but in a non-threatening way. Must stay 200 yards away from house.

And there’s also this tidbit in Beard’s contract that I came across:

Yeah, Beard is probably going to be out of a job here very shortly.
Now, I don’t know what happened, and I’m not going to defend the guy, nor join the angry mob going against him. But I have to say, I agree with Twitter user @blinkinriley on the matter:

And @B1Gsad makes a valid point as well:

I’m curious to know the whole story here, but right now, it’s not looking good for Chris. (RELATED: Bryant University Thrashes Thomas College By 108 Points)
We’ll see what happens.
