MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” panel mocked the New York Post on Monday for continuing to focus on Twitter’s censorship of their 2020 Hunter Biden laptop story.

Senior contributor Mike Barnicle held up a copy of Monday’s edition of the Post which featured the frontpage headlines “EYES ON THE SPIES” and “GOP vows House roundup of 51 ‘Hunter’ hushers.”

“If you want to know the future of the Republican Party, as you were discussing articulately last hour, take a look at the cover of New York Post,” Barnicle said as he held up the newspaper.

“If you’re out there worried about your heating oil bill, your grocery bill or the status of your kids in school, forget about that because we have to get to the bottom of the Hunter Biden story. We have to bring in Clapper and Brennan to find out why they lied.” (RELATED: Musk Fires Ex-FBI Lawyer For Allegedly Stonewalling Access To Hunter Biden Twitter Files)

Co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezenski burst out laughing. Scarborough then alleged that GOP officials are stuck in a bubble of partisan messaging that no real American cares about.

Twitter suppressed the Post’s Oct. 2020 story on the Hunter Biden laptop, barring users from tweeting it or sending it via direct message. The Post was also locked out of its account.

In early December, Twitter CEO Elon Musk released documents showing how Twitter worked to suppress the Post story about the laptop. Twitter executives made the decision to suppress the story based on their “hacked materials” policy despite having no official ruling from law enforcement that the material was hacked. The Democratic National Committee and Biden staff also flagged several tweets about the story that they wanted removed.
