Kentucky Republican Rep. James Comer said Monday on Fox News that Republicans will launch several oversight hearings after officially taking control of the House.

Comer published an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal saying the GOP would investigate the border crisis, pandemic relief fraud, the Afghanistan withdrawal, the energy crisis, COVID origins, and any business dealings the Biden family could be involved in.

“There has been zero oversight in this building for the past two years,” Comer said on Fox News. “Democrats have had the majority in both the House and Senate and completely turned a blind eye to the Biden administration’s disastrous policy, the runaway spending and to the elephant in the room, this influence peddling that their family continues to do.”

Comer then said that the Biden administration has spent two years focusing on the Trump administration but the second “we announce one investigation … you think the sky is falling in Washington D.C..”

Comer also added that Republicans would look into the Ukraine war, Twitter and the company’s censorship of the Hunter Biden laptop, which was labeled as Russian disinformation. (RELATED: Ro Khanna Says He Was Just ‘Standing Up’ For 1A After Slamming Twitter Censorship)

“There is a lack of trust in Congress. They make too many mistakes and now we don’t trust them,” Comer said. “We’ll bring them in and they will have an opportunity to explain themselves to us and explain why they continue to make so many mistakes at best. At worst they look like they’re politicized.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy exclusively told the Daily Caller days before the midterms that Republicans would look at Biden’s Department of Justice, Department of Education and the border crisis. McCarthy added Republicans would prioritize inflation, COVID origins and Big Tech.
