Two drag queens who have participated in events for children have reportedly been invited to the White House to celebrate the signing of the Respect for Marriage Act, according to the performers.

Marti Cummings, a self-identified nonbinary drag queen, has performed for children as young as two and advocated for children to be included in drag audiences, and the drag performer Brita Filter famously put on a show for Manhattan high schoolers in a church. Both performers announced they would attend President Joe Biden’s Tuesday signing ceremony of the same sex marriage bill on Twitter, the Daily Signal reported.

“To be a non binary drag artist invited to the White House is something I never imagined would happen,” Cummings wrote on Twitter alongside a picture of a formal invitation. “Thank you President & Dr. Biden for inviting me to this historic bill signing. Grateful doesn’t begin to express the emotions I feel.” (RELATED: Mattel Is Promoting Trans Agenda To Kids Through Its Products)

“See you there!!!!!” Drag queen Brita Filter responded.

Cummings gave a performance of the song “Baby Shark” to a two-year-old in 2019 while in full drag and has been a vocal advocate for children participating in drag. Cummings gave a TEDx Talk in 2019 titled “Drag is a leadership role model for everyone – kids, too.”

“Anyone who thinks drag isn’t for children is wrong,” Cummings tweeted after the Baby Shark performance, according to the Daily Signal. “Drag is expression, and children are such judgment-free beings; they don’t really care what you’re wearing, just what you’re performing.”

Brita Filter has also drawn attention for performing for minors: high schoolers at Grace Church High School in Manhattan were reportedly forced to attend a drag performance held in a church earlier this year, organized by the school and its LGBT club, according to the New York Post. The performer, whose real name is Jesse Havea, performed “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” then answered students’ questions about drag, queerness and LGBT pride.

The White House did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
