A liberal campaign called “Don’t Run Joe” is running an ad on a New Hampshire state-wide TV channel calling on President Joe Biden to not run in 2024.

The 60-second ad shows New Hampshire Democrat voters calling the president “status-quo Joe” and pointing out his low approval ratings.

With Biden’s “low popularity, he’s way too much of a gamble,” one Democrat voter says in the ad.

“If he runs, the election is at serious risk,” another voter says.

A CNBC poll published Friday showed that a majority of voters surveyed, 70%, did not want Biden to seek reelection in 2024. Fifty-four percent of Democrats surveyed did not want Biden to run.

Over 60% of voters surveyed thought former President Donald Trump, who has officially announced his campaign, should not run for 2024. (RELATED: Biden Responds To Trump Announcing His Presidential Run For 2024)

The poll surveyed 801 Americans nationwide, was conducted Nov. 26-30, and has a margin of error of +/-3.5%.

Some voters in the ad express concern that Biden having the Democratic Party nomination would lead to a Republican wining the presidency.

“We can’t afford to lose the White House to a Republican, who could defeat status-quo Joe,” one voter says. Another states, “it’s absolutely critical that we don’t allow a Republican to win the White House in 2024.”

The voters also point to climate change, universal health care and not compromising about abortion rights as the top issues at stake.

The ad is set to run on local evening news and the Jimmy Kimmel Live program, according to a statement from RootsAction, the organization that is sponsoring the “Don’t Run Joe” campaign.

“Our outreach to people who vote in New Hampshire’s Democratic primaries is just getting started,” said Jeff Cohen, co-founder of RootsAction. “And we will soon be expanding to other early primary states.”

“We don’t have a horse in this race. If we can persuade Biden not to run again, that could clear a path for a progressive candidate with broad appeal who can defeat the GOP in November 2024,” Cohen told the Daily Caller. “We’re looking for a Democratic candidate who is a bold and articulate progressive populist who can win in 2024 and then use their presidential bully pulpit to seriously address the various crises our country faces: widening economic inequality, increasing corporate power and greed (including Big Tech), climate meltdown.”

RootsAction is “dedicated to galvanizing people who are committed to economic fairness, equal rights for all, civil liberties, environmental protection — and defunding endless wars. We mobilize on these issues no matter whether Democrats or Republicans control Washington D.C.,” the organization states on its website.

“Biden should heed the voters of his party rather than simply declaring ‘watch me’ run for re-election,” RootsAction national director Norman Solomon said. “His public approval ratings remain dismal, as they have been all year. No amount of bravado from the White House can change the severe vulnerabilities that a Biden 2024 campaign would face.”

The White House did not immediately respond.
