Lionel Messi is a legend, and this is how legends get treated.

Ever since Argentina took out Croatia in a flashy 3-0 victory Dec. 13 to punch their tickets into the 2022 FIFA World Cup Final, it’s been an absolute party in the South American nation.

Recently, hundreds of fans in Rosario, Argentina showed up to Lionel Messi’s grandmother’s house, and they celebrated her and her grandson by singing and chanting “the grandma of Messi,” according to video shared by Fox Soccer.

Messi’s grandmother, whose name is Celia Olivera Cuccittini, died in 1998. Messi’s goal celebrations, when he points his fingers up to the heavens, is inspired by her — it’s Messi’s way of dedicating his goals.

When I first saw the video, I originally thought the fans were singing to Messi’s grandmother, but when I did some research into this story, I found out that she actually died when he was only 10 years old. So, not trying to make fun of this situation or anything, but who in the hell was the woman standing in the window?

I personally haven’t been able to find anything, but I am quite curious. She seemed to enjoy it, so that’s cool. But just imagine if that happened to a random person, they had no idea they lived in Messi’s grandmother’s house, and then a mob shows up and just starts singing. Talk about confusion, and hilariousness if that did happen. (RELATED: REPORT: Famous Croatian Superfan Ivana Knoll Claims Several World Cup Stars Sent Her Marriage Proposals, Sexy Messages)

I love how the Argentinians showed love to Messi’s grandmother though, which symbolically is showing respect to the bloodline of the greatest of all time. This was definitely a cool moment.

I was already on Argentina’s side before seeing this, but this has me even further with them now. Everything surrounding this World Cup team is just too glorious right now, everything is lining up for them perfectly. And history is screaming it: Argentina hasn’t won a World Cup since 1986, and Messi has never won one, period, in a career where he’s literally achieved everything but a World Cup title. This needs to happen for Argentina and Messi, where for France, it’s a want after already winning the last tournament.

We all should be rooting for Argentina, destiny is calling.
