Tom Cruise leapt out of a helicopter to thank fans for supporting “Top Gun: Maverick,” as seen in a video shared Sunday.

Cruise was in the process of filming the next installment of the “Mission Impossible” franchise when he decided to make the video, which was posted to Paramount Pictures’ YouTube channel. It comes as a joint thank-you to fans for supporting his superbly crafted sequel “Top Gun: Maverick” and an announcement to fans that the film will be available on Paramount+ on December 22nd.

“Hey everyone! Here we are over stunning South Africa, and we’re filming ‘Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Parts One and Two,” Cruise tells the camera in a selfie-style video. “And I didn’t want the year to end without thanking you all for coming out to the theatre and thank you for supporting ‘Top Gun: Maverick.'” (RELATED: ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Crushes The Box Office As Americans Crave Non-Woke Content)

He then turns to writer and director Chris McQuarrie, and asks if he’d like to jump out of the helicopter with him to “get the shot.” McQuarrie looks Cruise dead in the eye and says, “not on your life.” With that, Cruise throws himself out over the ocean, fully dressed.

The funniest part of the video is how seemingly calm Cruise is before he tucks into a ball and starts spinning toward the ground. Seriously, could Cruise be any more excited about life? We’re here for it!
