Country music icon Morgan Wallen is closing out 2022 as the first person to spend 100 weeks in the Top 10 Billboard 200 chart.
Just last week, Wallen became the first artist to ever take up all three top spots on the Hot Country Songs chart with “You Proof,” “One Thing at a Time,” and “Wasted On You,” and is now his “Dangerous: The Double Album” is the first to ever spend 100 weeks in the Top 10 on the Billboard chart, according to Whiskey Riff.
On top of this absolutely epic accolade, Wallen’s superb album is also the longest-running Top 10 album in the chart’s history, beating out every single other musician and band ever, in every genre, ever. He was also Waffle House’s Top New Artist of 2022, which is pretty darn cool.
Despite being nearly canceled in 2021 after footage of him arose using a racial slur, Wallen has technically had the most successful year in all of music history. Every other week, he broke some new record or won a major award. (RELATED: Brutal Chick Fight Caught On Video At Morgan Wallen Concert)
Is it just me, or is Morgan Wallen living out the American Dream in real time? He’s certainly written the soundtrack to my (legal resident alien) immigrant-American Dream, and will likely define this moment in music history forever. Pretty cool for a kid from east Tennessee.
