If the Dallas Cowboys put all of their eggs in one basket, I don’t think this is going to bode well for them.

Sports analysts Marcus Spears (who also played nine seasons in the NFL, eight for the Dallas Cowboys) and Mina Kimes were co-hosting ESPN’s “NFL Live” on Dec. 26. They ended up getting into a conversation about the Cowboys, when Spears was asked about the potential of “America’s Team” winning the Super Bowl. Spears said it could happen, but there’s only one way they can do it.

“This team is going to go as far as Dak Prescott and Kellen Moore allow them to go,” said Spears.

I like Dak Prescott, I like the Dallas Cowboys brand, but here’s the thing: If you’re telling me that the Cowboys are in a position where they have to put all of their eggs in one basket, I don’t think that’s going to work out for them. Hell, even Marcus Spears didn’t have too much confidence while giving his answer.

It’s like what they talked about shortly after — about how Dallas’ defense is absolutely atrocious. During the Christmas Eve rivalry game, the Philadelphia Eagles still put up 34 points against Dallas and nearly won the damn game despite having starting quarterback Jalen Hurts out of action. That’s horrible. You’re not winning a Super Bowl like that. [RELATED: Miami Dolphins Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa In Concussion Protocol (Again)]

Throughout the entire season, the Cowboys haven’t been the best. Currently, they allow an average of 332.5 yards-per-game, which places them in the No. 13 spot overall in defensive rankings — right in the middle of the pack, according to ESPN. The problem is, with them now being banged up, you can be sure their numbers on this side of the ball are about to get a lot worse.

And what Dallas really needs to focus on is figuring out how to not choke in the playoffs, that’s the real problem, and now that we’re already talking about it, “it’s all up to Dak!”

Yeah, good luck with that one.
